Malauzai Software
Malauzai Software was founded in 2009 to take advantage of the boom in mobile banking applications. With a flexible, white-label solution and a proprietary content management system, Malauzai offered small financial institutions a fully featured, competitive app solution for their users.
I joined Malauzai in 2014 as the sole UX designer tasked with improving the usability and accessibility of our white-label framework. Throughout my time with Malauzai, I introduced generative and evaluative research best practices, defined accessibility as a core pillar of our product offering, and implemented rigorous design processes focused on improving consistency and scalability.
Our client base began to grow rapidly, from 190 financial institutions in 2014 to over 400 by 2016. My role evolved into Manager of UX Engineering, and as the product matured, I grew the design team based on skill gaps and business needs. Our responsibility expanded to include feature improvements to Malauzai’s proprietary CMS, including critical code commits to support the latest design changes in our flexible framework. During this time, my team was instrumental in implementing Malauzai’s first admin portal experience, enabling our partners to create dynamic ad campaigns and monitor real-time integrations.
My team’s efforts to improve the digital product experience and implement best practices were instrumental in Finastra’s acquisition of Malauzai in early 2018.
